For those of you who were not aware, tomorrow marks the two week point since I had surgery on my left foot. In addition to keeping me away from Martial Arts, Ice Hockey and the other things I really enjoy, it has also meant wearing a surgical shoe until my stitches come out. Hallelujah! That day arrives tomorrow!
Surgery was to remove a Ganglion Cyst from my left big toe and also make sure that it won't occur again in that same spot. I opted to have it removed ahead of my annual winter snowboarding expedition to Colorado instead of waiting until afterward. Although it didn't hurt, I didn't want to take the chance in rupturing it on the slopes and ruining my vacation.
So tomorrow I get all of the bandages and stitches removed and I should be able to get a proper shower for the first time in a couple of weeks. Trying to shower with one foot outside the tub not only is awkward, it leads to a lot of mopping up water at the end of every shower. And don't even get me started on taking baths. There isn't anything quite as disgusting as wallowing in your own filth taking a bath.
